GITEX is one of the world's largest tech trade shows — and one of the most logistically demanding. Here's everything you need to know six months in advance.
GITEX Global at the Dubai World Trade Centre is not just one of the largest technology exhibitions in the world — it is one of the most operationally complex shows any European or international exhibitor will encounter. The scale, the climate, the logistics, and the commercial culture are all different from what most companies experience at European trade fairs.
This guide is based on our experience delivering stands at GITEX across multiple years, for clients ranging from first-time exhibitors to global technology brands. If you are planning to exhibit at GITEX 2026, you need to be moving now.
GITEX runs in October each year. Your stand contractor conversation should begin no later than April. The Dubai World Trade Centre has strict deadlines for stand design submission and approval, and material imports from Europe require significant lead time for shipping, customs clearance, and local permits. Companies that begin in August typically face compromises on design, materials, or cost. Companies that start in April get the stand they want.
The Dubai World Trade Centre requires all custom and double-deck stands to submit technical drawings for approval before build. Key requirements include: structural engineer sign-off for double-deck builds, fire-rated material specifications, electrical load calculations, and evacuation route compliance. Your stand contractor must be familiar with DWTC's submission portal — if they are not, factor in significant additional time.
At ExpoAxis, we operate with a dedicated local crew and production partners in Dubai, which means we can deliver European build quality without the shipping risk.
GITEX build-up typically runs for 3–4 days before the show opens. Your contractor should handle all access schedules, forklift bookings, and electrical connections — if they are asking you to coordinate venue services directly, that is a red flag. Dismantling after GITEX is fast and high-pressure. Have a clear plan for where stand materials go after the show.
GITEX attracts decision-makers from across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia — markets where relationship-building is a longer process than in Western Europe. Plan your stand to facilitate conversations, not just product demos. Private meeting areas, hospitality, and a welcoming layout will serve you better than a stand optimised for high-volume footfall.
"Every client who has come back to GITEX a second time has said the same thing: they wished they had invested in a larger or more impressive stand the first time."
